The Lord of the Rings ist das erste lizensierte Hörspiel, das von der BBC als Adaption des Romans The Lord of the Rings von J. R. R. Tolkien produziert wurde.
Es handelt sich um keine vollständige Lesung, sondern um eine Nach-Erzählung des 1954 erschienen ersten Bandes
Produktion
Das Hörspiel aus dem Jahr 1955 ist eines von zwei Produktionen der BBC zum Lord of the Rings, die der britische Produzent Terence Tiller verantwortete.[1] Die zweite Produktion ist ebenfalls eine Nach-Erzählung und wurde vom 19. November 1956 bis zum 23. Dezember 1956 beziehungsweise 27. Dezember 1956 auf dem Dritten Programm der BBC gesendet.[2]
Ausstrahlung
Das Hörspiel wurde auf dem dritten Programm der BBC[3] vom 14. November 1955 bis zum 18. Dezember 1955 ausgestrahlt (am 21. Dezember wurde die letzte Wiederholung gesendet).[4]
