Anschließend arbeitete sie bis 1995 als Bibliothekarin im Sir John Soane's Museum in London. Nach ihrer Heirat 1994 folgte sie im Jahr darauf ihrem Mann in die Vereinigten Staaten.
Christina Scull ist die Tochter von Robert Stanley Scull und Eileen Hannah Abbott. Von 1961 bis 1971 arbeitete sie in London im Handelsministerium. Gleichzeitig studierte sie an der Universität von London Kunstgeschichte und die Geschichte des Mittelalters und erreichte 1971 den Grad eines Bachelor of Arts.
