Blind Guardian ist eine Metal-Band aus Krefeld, die sich auf sehr melodischen, teils bombastischen Metal spezialisiert hat, dessen Hauptinspiration im Fantasie-Genre liegt. In ihren Songs nimmt die Band seit ihrem ersten offiziellen Ablum (Battalions of Fear, von 1988) sehr oft Bezug auf das Tolkien-Universum.
Ihr bekanntestes Album ist das 1998 erschienene Nightfall in Middle-Earth, in dem das Silmarillion vertont wurde.
